Desired Qualification

• B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering
• M.E. / M.Tech preferred

Experience

• Minimum 12–18 years of experience in MEP design, coordination, and execution for residential, commercial, or industrial projects.
• At least 7-8 years in a senior managerial or head role.

Key Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, fire-fighting, plumbing, and ELV systems.
• Excellent project planning and execution skills.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, MS Project/Primavera, and relevant MEP software.
• Strong analytical, decision-making, and leadership skills.
• Effective communication and stakeholder management.

Job Purpose

The Head - MEP is responsible for leading, standardizing, and overseeing all Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) aspects across all projects within the organization. This role ensures that MEP designs are efficient, cost-effective, and compliant with local regulations, while also streamlining approvals from authorities. The role involves developing enterprise-wide MEP strategies, reviewing designs and ensuring value engineering.

Key Responsibilities

1. Planning & Design Coordination

• Review and validate MEP designs, drawings, and specifications.
• Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, and consultants to ensure design integration.
• Evaluate design proposals for technical and commercial feasibility.
• Approve MEP materials and equipment as per project requirements and budget.

2. Project Execution & Monitoring

• Plan, monitor, and control all MEP activities across multiple projects.
• Ensure execution as per approved drawings, standards, and project schedules.
• Conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with specifications, quality, and safety.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and implement corrective actions promptly.

3. Vendor & Contractor Management

• Evaluate, appoint, and manage MEP contractors and suppliers.
• Review contractor performance and ensure compliance with contractual terms.
• Verify contractor bills and approve technical quantities for certification.

4. Cost & Budget Control

• Prepare MEP budgets, BOQs, and cost estimates.
• Monitor and control project costs, identifying value engineering opportunities.
• Support procurement in finalizing techno-commercial comparisons.

5. Quality, Safety & Compliance

• Ensure all MEP works comply with local codes, standards, and statutory regulations.
• Implement best practices for safety and sustainability (fire safety, HVAC efficiency, etc.).
• Ensure timely inspections, testing, and commissioning of MEP systems.

6. Team Leadership & Coordination

• Lead and mentor the MEP team (engineers, supervisors, draftsmen).
• Coordinate between multiple internal and external stakeholders for smooth project execution.
• Provide technical guidance and training to junior engineers.
