Job Description We are looking for a Member of Technical Staff to join our Direct Messaging team within our Chennai R&D, Platform & Data Services subdivision, Interoperability Networks zone. Our zone vision is to maximize our network effect through efficient, effective, experience-driven interoperability and navigate towards value-based care. Our team’s vision is to enable secure, standards-compliant, and seamless communication between providers, payers, and partners, improving collaboration and care coordination across the healthcare ecosystem. But enough about us, let’s talk about you. Your job will be to build enterprise quality direct messaging applications/services, with a focus on secure healthcare data exchange, complex integration, and stability at scale. You are a technologist with zeal to solve complex problems, have a growth mindset, are a fast learner, and are willing to work in a fast-paced environment. Help us reach our goal of becoming the healthcare backbone by enhancing our EHR solution’s interoperability and leveraging the network effect of 100k+ providers. Apply your technical skills towards allowing doctors to be doctors so that they can spend more time doing what they do best: provide patient care. Job responsibilities:
Develop, maintain, and optimize direct messaging services using PERL. Implement secure messaging protocols (e.g., Direct Project, S/MIME, XDR/XDM) for healthcare data exchange. Integrate messaging solutions with EHR systems and payer platforms. Ensure compliance with HIPAA and other healthcare regulations. Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve complex integration and messaging issues. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable and reliable solutions. Continuously improve system performance, security, and stability at scale. Education, Experience, & Skills Required:
2 to 4 years of experience in software development, with a focus on PERL and backend integration. Experience in an Agile environment. Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent. Significant software engineering skills (SDLC) with high quality and DevSecOps driven delivery. Expertise in PERL programming, and experience with secure messaging protocols (Direct Project, S/MIME, XDR/XDM) is a plus. Strong knowledge in Databases and SQL development. Ability to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment, while producing quality code. Ability to work collaboratively on a cross-functional team with a wide range of experience levels. Ability to write code that is technically sound, performant, scalable, and readable. Ability to collaborate with business owners to understand and refine business requirements.
