About The Opportunity

• Provide comprehensive clinical care for GI and liver patients—lead outpatient clinics, inpatient rounds and emergency consultations on-site in Tezpur.
• Perform diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures (upper GI endoscopy, colonoscopy) and manage acute GI bleeding and related emergencies.
• Deliver advanced endoscopic interventions where qualified (e.g., ERCP, endoscopic hemostasis); maintain procedural logs and ensure patient safety protocols.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary care with surgery, radiology, ICU and pathology teams to optimise diagnostics and treatment plans.
• Maintain accurate medical records, contribute to clinical audit, quality improvement initiatives and local protocol development.
• Mentor junior doctors, trainees and nursing staff; participate in CME activities and community health outreach as required.
  

Skills & Qualifications

Must-Have

• DM or DrNB in Gastroenterology with valid Indian medical registration (NMC/State Medical Council).
• Demonstrated competence in diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy; hands-on experience managing GI emergencies and inpatient care.
• Strong clinical decision-making, procedural safety, and documentation skills for on-site hospital practice.
• Excellent communication skills in English and regional languages; ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
  

Preferred

• Post-DM/DrNB clinical experience (1–3+ years) in a tertiary setting; exposure to ERCP/advanced endoscopy is highly desirable.
• Experience in hepatology, IBD management, endoscopic therapeutic techniques, academic publications or teaching responsibilities.
