Mechanical Maintenance Manager

Key Responsibilities:

During Project / Greenfield Phase:

• Participate in plant design review, equipment selection, and layout planning.
• Review and ensure proper installation of mechanical equipment as per OEM standards.
• Coordinate with project, procurement, and OEM teams for timely delivery and installation.
• Support commissioning and trial runs of critical mechanical systems.
• Prepare SOPs, maintenance plans, and spare parts planning for new equipment.

Post-Commissioning / Operations Phase:

• Lead preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of all mechanical equipment.
• Ensure minimal downtime through effective maintenance practices and root cause analysis (RCA).
• Develop and implement maintenance KPIs and monitor performance.
• Manage AMCs and vendor coordination for specialized equipment.
• Maintain documentation for audits, safety, and compliance.
• Drive cost-effective maintenance strategies while ensuring asset longevity.
• Ensure all activities comply with health, safety, and environmental standards.
• Lead, train, and develop a skilled maintenance team.

Key Skills & Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems (pumps, compressors, conveyors, utilities, etc.)
• Expertise in preventive & predictive maintenance systems.
• Familiarity with TPM, CMMS, 5S, and lean maintenance practices.
• Hands-on experience in handling utility equipment (boilers, chillers, air compressors, etc.)
• Analytical skills for problem-solving and RCA.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills.
• Good communication and cross-functional coordination skills.

Qualifications:

• B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in mechanical maintenance in a manufacturing industry.

• Experience in Greenfield projects is highly preferred.

• Working knowledge of SAP or other CMMS tools is desirable.

Preferred Candidate Profile:

• Proven ability to set up and lead mechanical maintenance function in a new plant.
• Familiar with regulatory and safety standards in industrial setups.
• Willing to work in a dynamic start-up phase environment with hands-on responsibilities.
