Mechanical Manager

Job Role

Responsible for complete mechanical engineering planning, execution, installation, and commissioning for a Greenfield project. Ensures timely and cost-effective delivery through coordination with internal teams, consultants, vendors, and contractors.

1. Project Planning & Execution

• Prepare mechanical project plans, schedules, and budgets under Mechanical Heads guidance.
  
• Ensure adherence to timelines, cost parameters, quality standards, and safety norms.
  
• Lead installation, erection, testing, and commissioning of mechanical equipment, piping, and utilities.
  

2. Design & Engineering

• Review and approve mechanical designs, P&IDs, GA drawings, and equipment specifications.
  
• Work with consultants for mechanical layouts and technical documentation.
  
• Ensure compliance with statutory, safety, and environmental requirements.
  

3. Vendor & Contractor Management

• Evaluate and finalize vendors and contractors for mechanical works.
  
• Review vendor drawings, quality plans, and material submissions.
  
• Track contractor progress and ensure contractual obligations are met.
  

4. Cost & Resource Management

• Monitor budgets, control cost deviations, and approve justified variations.
  
• Allocate manpower, tools, and equipment to achieve project milestones.
  

5. Coordination & Communication

• Collaborate with Civil, Electrical, Instrumentation, and Safety teams for seamless execution.
  
• Conduct routine review meetings and present project updates to management.
  

6. Safety & Statutory Compliance

• Ensure all mechanical activities comply with safety protocols and statutory requirements.
  
• Support statutory approvals related to mechanical installations.

Education & Experience

• B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering (Mandatory)

• 10–15 years

  of mechanical project experience in large industrial plants.
• Minimum

  5 years

  in a leadership role managing Greenfield projects.
• Experience in

  chemical / fertilizer / petrochemical / process plants

  preferred.
