Your future role
Take on a new challenge and apply your mechanical design and integration expertise in a cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside collaborative, innovative, and detail-oriented teammates.You'll play a key role in delivering high-quality mechanical solutions for fitting and tubing, ensuring integration feasibility and compliance with industry standards. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (such as Advanced Industrialisation, Quality, Sourcing, and Shop Floor), manage design reviews, and ensure documentation is completed on time, and much more.You’ll specifically take care of creating 3D models, mechanical layouts, and design deliverables like BoMs and assembly drawings, but also manage design gaps and support retrofit activities for mechanical components.We’ll look to you for:
- Executing mechanical fitting and tubing tasks aligned with Alstom’s QMS and technical standards
- Delivering design outputs that meet QCD (Quality, Cost, Delivery) and DFQ (Design for Quality) requirements
- Integrating cross-functional requirements into mechanical designs
- Managing design activities using project-specific planning tools and timelines
- Organising and leading design reviews
- Driving innovation and continuous improvement in mechanical design practices
All About You

- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- Over 8 years of experience in mechanical design and integration within the rolling stock domain
- Proficiency in PDM, DMA, CATIA, and PLM tools
- Knowledge of train mechanical architecture, system engineering, and project management (QCD)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Resilience under pressure and a hands-on approach
- Customer satisfaction orientation and a commitment to quality
