Job Description

A Mechanical Engineer in an electronics manufacturing company plays a pivotal role in designing, optimizing, and maintaining mechanical systems and components that integrate seamlessly with electronic products. The position involves collaboration with design, production, and quality teams to ensure the mechanical aspects of products meet performance and reliability standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and Development
  • Design mechanical components and assemblies for electronic devices using CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Creo).
  • Develop prototypes and test designs for functionality, manufacturability, and durability.
  • Work closely with electrical and embedded engineers to ensure compatibility between mechanical and electronic components.
  • Manufacturing Support
  • Assist in setting up production lines for electronic products, ensuring mechanical components are efficiently integrated.
  • Develop and optimize tooling, jigs, and fixtures for manufacturing processes.
  • Conduct failure mode analysis and implement corrective actions for mechanical issues in production.
  • Thermal and Structural Analysis
  • Perform thermal management studies to ensure adequate heat dissipation in electronic assemblies.
  • Conduct structural analysis of enclosures and components to ensure reliability under operational conditions.
  • Quality and Standards Compliance
  • Ensure mechanical designs comply with industry standards (ISO, IPC, etc.) and customer requirements.
  • Collaborate with the quality team to identify and resolve defects related to mechanical components.
  • Maintenance and Troubleshooting
  • Oversee maintenance of machinery and tools used in the production of electronic products.
  • Provide technical support to resolve mechanical issues in the manufacturing process.
  • Vendor and Material Management
  • Evaluate and select materials suitable for electronic assemblies, considering factors like thermal expansion and conductivity.
  • Liaise with suppliers to source high-quality mechanical parts and materials.
  • Documentation
  • Prepare and maintain documentation for designs, test results, and production processes.
  • Develop and update mechanical specifications and assembly instructions.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in CAD tools (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Creo).
  • Knowledge of thermal and structural analysis tools (e.g., ANSYS).
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes like injection molding, die casting, and sheet metal fabrication.
  • Soft Skills:
  • Problem-solving and critical thinking.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent, Fresher

Pay: ₹22,996.26 - ₹58,304.84 per month
