Ayukriyam Innovations Pvt Ltd is a deep-tech spin-off from the Molecular Imaging & Diagnostics Lab at the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi. We are dedicated to transforming healthcare diagnostics through cutting-edge AI-assisted technologies and automation. Our innovations include automated sample slide preparation platforms and cartridge-based point-of-care solutions, covering a spectrum of molecular assays such as antimicrobial resistance (AMR) detection. By integrating molecular diagnostics with automation and AI, we aim to provide scalable, efficient, and affordable diagnostic solutions, addressing critical gaps in healthcare.


Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for a Mechanical Designer at our Delhi, India location. The Mechanical Designer will be responsible for designing mechanical components and assemblies for our diagnostic platforms, with a strong focus on design for manufacturing (DFM) and reliability. The role involves creating detailed technical drawings, 3D models, and machine designs using CAD software, while ensuring feasibility for large-scale manufacturing and assembly. The candidate will also collaborate with cross-functional teams in research and development (R&D), procurement, and vendors to translate concepts into manufacturable products.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop mechanical designs and detailed drawings with a strong focus on

    DFM and DFA

    (Design for Assembly).
  • Collaborate with vendors and fabrication partners to optimize designs for cost-effective and scalable manufacturing.
  • Participate in prototyping, testing, and iterative design improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant standards and quality requirements for healthcare/diagnostic devices.
  • Work closely with R&D teams to integrate mechanical design with electronics, optics, and fluidics modules.
  • Conduct tolerance analysis, material selection, and BOM preparation.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues during prototyping and production.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Strong knowledge of design for manufacturing (DFM) and assembly (DFA) principles.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Fusion 360, or similar).
  • Experience in machine design, prototyping, and mechanical systems integration.
  • Understanding of materials, manufacturing processes (sheet metal, injection molding, machining, 3D printing), and vendor coordination.
  • R&D experience, preferably in healthcare or diagnostic devices, is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
