Job Description

Material Planning Engineer

Experience:

3 8 Years (in Heavy Fabrication / CNC Machining / Manufacturing Industry)

Location:

Hyderabad - Balangar

Qualification:

B.E / B.Tech Mechanical

Role Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive

Material Planning Engineer

to manage and optimize material flow for

CNC machining operations and heavy fabrication projects

. The role involves effective planning, scheduling, and coordination of raw materials, consumables, and bought-out components to ensure uninterrupted production, minimal wastage, and on-time project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and execute
material requirement plans (MRP)
based on project schedules, BOMs, and production needs.
Coordinate with
production, CNC machining, fabrication, procurement, and stores teams
to ensure timely availability of materials.
Analyze
consumption patterns, machining lead times, and safety stock levels
to optimize inventory.
Prepare and monitor
material indenting schedules
in line with micro-planning of fabrication and machining projects.
Follow up with suppliers, procurement, and logistics for timely deliveries.
Identify and mitigate risks related to
material shortages, excess stock, or delays
.
Support
nesting and wastage control activities
for fabrication materials (steel plates, sheets, consumables, welding electrodes, etc.).
Track and report
material utilization, CNC machining yield, and scrap generation
to drive continuous improvement.
Implement
inventory control systems
and contribute to ERP based material planning.

Key Skills & Competencies:

Strong knowledge of
Material Planning, Inventory Management, and Supply Chain processes
.
Experience in
CNC machining operations and heavy fabrication processes
.
Hands-on expertise in
MRP/ERP systems (MS Navision,SAP, Oracle, or equivalent)
.
Familiarity with
machining, welding, cutting, and fabrication workflows
.
Analytical and problem-solving skills to resolve bottlenecks in material flow.
Excellent communication and coordination abilities.
Proficiency in
Excel, MS Project, and planning tools
.

Preferred Experience:

Background in
Heavy Fabrication, CNC Machining, Defence, Aerospace, Energy, or Engineering Projects
.
Experience in
material control, nesting optimization, and wastage reduction
.
