Role DescriptionDepartmentThe Commercial Services Marketing Team at the University of York promotes a wide range of services for students, staff, and the wider community – from sports facilities and retail outlets to cafes, bars, and events. We’re a creative and collaborative team, passionate about delivering campaigns that inform, engage, and inspire.RoleWe’re looking for a Marketing Administrator to join our busy team and help keep things running smoothly behind the scenes. This is an excellent entry-level position for someone looking to build a career in marketing, offering the chance to gain hands-on experience in a professional and reputable organisation.In this role, you’ll support the day-to-day operations of the marketing team, ensuring our campaigns and projects are well-organised and delivered on time. Your tasks will include scheduling and updating marketing calendars, coordinating meetings and events, maintaining records, preparing reports, and assisting with content planning. You’ll also help manage mailing lists, databases, and marketing assets, and provide administrative support for photo shoots and promotional events.Working closely with a variety of departments and teams, you’ll develop your skills in campaign coordination, communication, and digital marketing tools. It’s the perfect opportunity to learn, grow, and make a real impact in a creative and collaborative team.

Skills, Experience & Qualification Needed

  • Has a Level 2 qualification (or equivalent experience)
  • Has strong organisational skills and the ability to manage tasks efficiently.
  • Communicates clearly and confidently in writing and in person.
  • Is confident using digital tools such as Google Workspace or Microsoft Office.
  • Has a basic understanding of marketing or social media platforms and an interest in learning more about analytics and reporting.
  • Is willing to learn new tools such as Canva, email marketing platforms, and website editors.
