Vessel Optimization Specialist at ZeroNorth This role focuses on analyzing vessel performance data, optimizing fuel efficiency, and refining performance models to enhance operational effectiveness while addressing client queries and handling ad hoc tasks. The position involves working with large datasets, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and providing expert advisory services on hull and machinery performance, including main engine, auxiliary engine, and boiler optimization. Strong analytical skills, experience in vessel performance modeling, and proficiency in data tools like SQL and Python are beneficial but not essential. The role is ideal for individuals passionate about maritime technology and data-driven insights to drive industry improvements. Key responsibilities: Examine extensive datasets on vessel performance to uncover trends, patterns, and areas for optimization. calibrate and refine performance models to closely align with actual vessel operations and environmental conditions. Continuously track vessel performance metrics to identify anomalies, inconsistencies or potential inefficiencies. Offer expert guidance to customers on enhancing vessel efficiency, particularly in relation to hull performance and machinery systems such as the main engine, auxiliary engine, and boiler. Work collaboratively with : data scientists, software developers and maritime specialists to refine model performance through iterative feedback. Evaluate and provide recommendations for enhancements to the Vessel Optimization platform. Track thorough records of model calibration methods, updates, and enhancements for future reference. Perform rigorous validation checks on model outputs and make necessary refinements to ensure precision. Your profile: Academic qualifications in data science, engineering, mathematics, or relevant industry experience. 3+ years of experience in vessel operations or a related field Practical experience in vessel performance modeling, calibration, or a similar domain within the maritime sector is highly desirable. A foundation in marine technology or allied fields, such as ocean engineering or naval architecture. Strong analytical skills with a keen eye for data accuracy and integrity. Passionate about maritime advancements and cutting-edge marine technology. Thrives in a dynamic, fast-evolving work environment.
