Description & Requirements

Infor is seeking an experienced Software Development Manager to lead and grow a team of talented engineers responsible for developing, maintaining, and enhancing Infor ERPA XA product on the IBMi / iSeries platform. This role requires a dynamic, motivated self-starter professional and can thrive in a constantly evolving environment. As a Software Development Manager, you will be responsible for leading projects, managing & growing the team, managing technology in projects, and providing guidance to the team.

Essential Duties:

  • Lead and grow a team of talented engineers responsible for development and maintenance of Infor ERPA XA product.
  • Provide direction and oversight for entry-level to mid-level software engineers.
  • Identifies technology improvements, explore potential alternatives, and proposes technology changes to meet business needs and improve operational efficiencies.
  • Lead software development projects; Manage project scope; Identify project risks and escalate to management as needed.
  • Build and maintain project budgets, ensure project goals are achieved.
  • Work with senior management and product management to efficiently and effectively allocate team members for meeting business objectives.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional business and technology teams to meet business requirements.
  • Coach project managers, scrum masters, manage interdependencies within projects.
  • Ensures successful collaboration across teams and stakeholders.
  • Develops metrics and dashboards to monitor progress and productivity of the team.
  • Participates in design meetings, provide technical inputs, guides the team on estimating software development projects.
  • Ensure processes, technical best practices are constantly improved and enforced; Foster a culture of knowledge sharing, continuous improvement, learning, and respect for team members.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, or related field preferred.
  • 15+ years of software development experience with 5+ years leading high performing software development teams in a in a constantly evolving environment.
  • Hands-on experience on RPG, SQL RPGLE, CLLE, Free format RPG, DB2 for IBM i and SQL.
  • Excellent managerial and interpersonal skills; effectively communicate and collaborate with all areas of engineering and product management; ability to interact and work with staff at all levels.
  • Proven experience in software development methodologies, release management, and functional testing
  • Advanced knowledge and hands on experience with agile methodologies.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in development and maintenance of ERP Systems
  • Experience with ERP XA and/or IDF.
  • Experience in Java technologies.
  • Experience with solutions design & architecture.
  • Good communication skills and comfortability speaking in small group settings.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Experience and ability to work effectively in tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Microsoft Teams
  • Ability to multi-task; Self-teacher in acquiring technical skills.
