Job Description

As a Manager Safety at Godrej Properties Limited, your role involves carrying out safety inspections and audits for projects and related activities. You will be responsible for supervising and instructing PMC safety officers and contractors" safety resources, ensuring the site's vigilance, stopping any unsafe work or practices immediately, and advising the project manager to take disciplinary actions against safety breaches. Your Roles & Responsibilities: - Implementing & Monitoring Site Safety Adherence: - Implement company policies, objectives, programs & procedures and assess their effectiveness periodically. - Ensure adequate safety infrastructure is established and maintained in the best and ready-to-use condition, such as first aid, safety induction & training, emergency medical assistance, sanitation, labor camp, crche, access controls, etc. - Prepare & implement a monthly activity schedule for inspection, audit, training, and campaigns in line with the contractors" safety plan, and assess periodically. - Ensure contractors provide and maintain required welfare and sanitation facilities at the project and labor camp as per BOCW Act & Contract Labor Act. - Assess and communicate to contractors the availability of standard quality PPE, adequate quantity, buffer stock, and its effective usage at the site. - Register customer complaints/feedback and take corrective actions. - Record and report incidents to the Project Manager and Region safety in charge immediately on the phone, followed by a detailed report within 8 hours. - Implementing Safety Audits and Review Meetings: - Audit/review the implementation of the site safety plan, site logistics plan, and contractual requirements. - Review the periodic inventory, inspection & preventive maintenance schedule of earth moving vehicles, electrical tools & installations, and testing of lifting tools and related statutory compliances. - Review/ensure housekeeping, health & hygiene parameters inside & perimeter of the site and labor camp and advise PM on required improvements. - Ensure a periodic check on work environmental aspects like illumination, noise pollution, dust & fumes nuisance, etc., in offices, projects, labor camp. - Provide periodic feedback to the Project Manager and Region safety in charge on compliances, critical deviations, preventive measures, performance measurement of contractors, and PMC program for continual improvement. Qualifications Required: - BE Civil/Mechanical, Science Graduate - Advanced Diploma in Industrial Safety or a minimum of 1 year from State Board of Technical Exam (recognized under BOCWA) or Diploma in Construction Management (NICMAR) - Exposure to different projects (Roads, Construction, Plant) as a Safety Officer - Diploma in QA and ISO:9000 Experience: - 10 to 15 years of relevant experience Critical Skills: - Awareness of safety & health legislations, standards & code of practices (BOCWA) - Working knowledge of Hazard identification & risk assessment (HIRA) - Knowledge of Local language used on site If this challenging role excites you and you are ready to contribute your expertise to ensure a safe working environment, we invite you to apply now to join our dynamic team at Godrej Properties Limited.,
