As an Assistant EHS Manager at Givaudan's Pune Plant, you will play a crucial role in leading the Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) agenda. To be successful in this position, you should hold a Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Environmental Engineering, or a Master's degree in Chemistry or Environmental Science, along with a recognized Diploma in Industrial Safety. You should have a minimum of 10 years of experience in EHS roles within manufacturing environments such as Flavour & Fragrance, Pharmaceutical (API), Specialty Chemicals, or FMCG. Demonstrated experience in independently managing EHS functions in medium-sized facilities is essential. Moreover, you should possess strong knowledge of national and international EHS standards, proficiency in using EHS IT and audit systems, and the ability to influence strategic EHS outcomes in a complex organizational structure. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, SAP, and other relevant IT tools is required. Additionally, you will ensure that relevant EHS records (e.g., policy documentation, risk assessments, safety data sheets, registers, fire drills, and training records, etc.) are maintained and updated as and when necessary. Your role will also involve ensuring that all employees, including temporary staff and contractors, receive effective and sufficient training and instruction through the company's EHS competency development program. Furthermore, you will act on employee complaints relating to Health, Safety, or Welfare, communicate through the relevant company channels, and bring them to the attention of the concerned authorities as required. It is essential that you ensure updated information of legal requirements, hazards in the workplace, and company EHS policy and procedures. You will encourage the participation and involvement of all employees in EHS issues and ensure that all complaints and EHS breaches are dealt with promptly and effectively. Additionally, you will ensure that adequate supplies of effective PPE, as specified by risk assessments, are readily available for those employees visiting clients" premises.
