Key Responsibilities

• Lead the research and development activities for new LED lighting products and technologies.
• Conceptualize, design, and develop innovative LED luminaires and lighting solutions.
• Improve existing products by enhancing performance, energy efficiency, and quality.
• Conduct technical feasibility studies, BOM creation, prototyping, and product validation.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams such as production, quality, and procurement to ensure smooth product launch.
• Evaluate and test new components, drivers, LEDs, optics, heat sinks, and materials.
• Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and competitor products.
• Create and maintain detailed technical documentation, drawings, and test reports.
• Ensure all new products comply with relevant safety and performance standards (BIS, IEC, LM79, LM80, etc.).
• Coordinate with external labs for certifications and testing.
• Troubleshoot product failures and drive root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Support the sales team with technical expertise during major customer discussions.
• Drive continuous innovation to strengthen the company’s product portfolio.
  

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or related field.
• 10–12 years of experience in R&D, specifically in the LED lighting industry.
• Strong product knowledge in LED drivers, modules, optics, thermal management, and lighting standards.
• Proficiency in electrical schematics, PCB design basics, thermal design, and optical measurements.
• Excellent knowledge of LED testing parameters (LM79, LM80, TM21, IP ratings, surge, efficiency, CRI, CCT, etc.).
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and innovation skills.
• Ability to lead R&D projects independently from concept to launch.
• Good communication skills and ability to coordinate with multiple departments.
• Candidate must be based in Hyderabad or willing to relocate.
  

Preferred Attributes

• Experience in designing cost-effective and high-efficiency LED luminaires.
• Knowledge of CAD tools, simulation software, and lighting design tools (Dialux/Relux preferred).
• Experience with certification processes (BIS, CE, RoHS, etc.).
