This role focuses on aligning production plans with demand forecasts, managing inventory, and coordinating with other departments to meet customer needs. Key Responsibilities of a Production Scheduling Manager: Master Production Scheduling (MPS): Developing and managing the MPS, which outlines what and how much to produce, and when. Demand Planning: Analyzing historical sales data and market trends to predict future demand. Production Planning: Ensuring manufacturing processes align with demand forecasts and available resources. Inventory Management: Optimizing inventory levels to minimize costs and prevent stockouts. Coordination and Communication: Collaborating with sales, marketing, procurement, and manufacturing teams to ensure seamless operations. Process Improvement: Identifying and implementing improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce lead times, and minimize disruptions. Performance Monitoring: Tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of production scheduling and make necessary adjustments. Skills and Qualifications: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills: To analyze data, identify bottlenecks, and develop effective solutions. Knowledge of supply chain management principles: To understand the flow of materials, information, and funds within the organization. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills: To effectively collaborate with other departments and manage a team.
