Job Description

Mainly SAP Technical consultants do the development (Programming) work into SAP. He works closely with functional consultants and do the development based on their requirement. He do

the Initial testing also.

Additional Role Responsibilities-

Core ABAP Technical Skills

1. ABAP Programming (Advanced)

o Modularization (Includes, Function Modules, Classes, Methods)

o ABAP Objects (OOPs concepts)

o Exception handling and performance optimization

o Code Inspector, ATC, and performance tuning (SQL trace, runtime analysis)

2. Data Dictionary

o Tables, Views, Search Helps, Lock Objects

o Indexing, buffering, and database performance considerations

3. Reports and Interfaces

o Classical & Interactive Reports

o ALV (OO ALV, SALV, REUSE_ALV)

o Batch Data Communication (BDC), Call Transaction, and LSMW

4. Enhancements & Modifications

o User Exits, Customer Exits, BAdIs, Enhancement Points

o Implicit/Explicit Enhancements

o Business Transaction Events (BTE)

5. Smart Forms, SAPscript, Adobe Forms

o Advanced layout and print program handling

Advanced / Modern ABAP Skills

1. ABAP on HANA

o Code Pushdown (using CDS Views, AMDP, Open SQL enhancements)

o Performance tuning for HANA

o Debugging and optimization in HANA environment

2. Core Data Services (CDS)

o CDS Views, Annotations, Associations, and Exposure to OData

o Integration with SAP Fiori/UI5

3. OData and Gateway Services

o Creation and consumption of OData services

o Integration with SAP Fiori/UI5 apps

4. ABAP RESTful Programming Model (RAP)

o RAP Business Objects, Behavior Definitions, and Service Binding

o Exposure to S/4HANA programming paradigms
