Job Description

Job Title: Credit Analyst / Credit Manager Department: Credit & Risk Reports To: Credit Head / Risk Manager Job Purpose: The Credit Analyst/Credit Manager is responsible for evaluating, underwriting, and recommending credit proposals in line with internal policies and risk parameters. The role also involves ongoing monitoring of the loan portfolio to ensure credit quality and compliance with the company’s risk appetite. Key Duties & Responsibilities: Credit Assessment: Appraise and underwrite loan proposals within the defined credit policy framework. Perform thorough due diligence of loan applications, including verification of documents, reference checks, and credit bureau reports. Assess applicant’s financial stability, income, repayment ability, intention, and credit behaviour. Analyze the applicant’s nature of business, associated risks, and revenue generation capability. Evaluate all credit risk parameters and recommend necessary mitigants. Prepare detailed credit appraisal notes/approval memos for sanctioning authorities. Manage credit approval turnaround time (TAT) while maintaining high approval quality. Credit Monitoring: Ensure strict compliance with internal credit policies, risk controls, and regulatory guidelines. Continuously monitor the loan portfolio to maintain credit quality and detect early warning signals. Conduct exception approval monitoring, reject analysis, and share learnings for process enhancement. Regularly review and ensure control over credit costs, delinquencies, and overall portfolio health. Key Skills & Competencies: Strong analytical skills with attention to financial and business risk factors. Knowledge of credit underwriting, risk assessment models, and financial statement analysis. Proficiency in using credit bureau tools, Excel, and financial systems. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work within tight deadlines while ensuring quality decision-making. High integrity and adherence to compliance norms. Education & Qualifications: Graduate in Finance, Commerce, Economics, or related field (Mandatory) Postgraduate (MBA/CA/CFA) preferred Experience:3–8 years of experience in credit underwriting or credit risk management in NBFCs, Banks, or Financial Institutions.
