Job Description

Experience: 7 to 10 Years

Qualification: BE / BTech – Civil Engineering or Mechanical Engineering

Industry Exposure: Construction / Infrastructure / Power / Oil & Gas / Industrial Construction / Roads & Railways

Location: Viman Nagar Pune

Role Objective

To drive business growth by identifying and developing new opportunities across EPC and infrastructure sectors including roads, highways, railways, power, oil & gas, and industrial projects, through effective market intelligence, tendering, and client relationship management.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Market Expansion

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in roads, highways, railway infrastructure, Construction, power, oil & gas, industrial, and related infrastructure sectors.
  • Track upcoming projects from NHAI, MoRTH, Indian Railways, Metro Rail Corporations, State PWDs, and other government / PSU bodies.
  • Conduct market research to analyze competitors, project pipelines, and sector trends.
  • Build and maintain a strong network with clients, consultants, PMCs, and authorities.

Tendering & Pre-Bid Activities

  • Identify suitable tenders and evaluate technical and commercial feasibility.
  • Coordinate with estimation, engineering, planning, and finance teams for bid preparation.
  • Manage preparation and submission of EOIs, RFQs, RFPs, and tender documents.
  • Participate in pre-bid meetings, joint venture discussions, and site visits.
  • Ensure accurate and timely submission of bids in compliance with tender requirements

Client & Stakeholder Management

  • Act as the key interface with clients during pre-bid, negotiation, and award stages.
  • Coordinate with consultants, PMCs, JV partners, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Support contract negotiations and assist in finalization of commercial and contractual terms.

Strategy & Reporting

  • Support formulation of short-term and long-term business development strategies.
  • Prepare BD MIS, tender tracking reports, and win–loss analysis.
  • Provide market intelligence and strategic inputs to senior management.
  • Internal Coordination

    • Work closely with execution, planning, procurement, legal, and finance teams.
    • Ensure effective handover of awarded projects to execution teams.
    • Align business development efforts with organizational growth objectives.

    Key Skills & Competencies

    • Strong understanding project tendering, construction contracts, and construction methodologies.
    • Good knowledge of government and PSU tendering procedures.
    • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
    • Ability to assess technical, commercial, and contractual risks.
    • Strong presentation and documentation skills.
    • Proficiency in MS Office; familiarity with CRM systems is an added advantage.

    Desired Profile

    • 7 to 10 years of experience in business development, tendering, or pre-contract roles.
    • Engineering background (Civil or Mechanical) with exposure to industrial ,infrastructure projects.
    • Experience dealing with government bodies, PSUs, and private developers.
    • Willingness to travel for client meetings, pre-bid discussions, and site visits.
