Job Description – Robotic Assembly Maintenance Engineer
Position Title: Robotic Assembly Maintenance Engineer
Department: Maintenance – Assembly Operations
Reporting To: Maintenance Manager / Plant Maintenance Lead
Employment Type: Full-time
Role Summary: Responsible for ensuring the optimal operation of robotic assembly equipment by performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair activities related to robotics, PLC systems, drive systems, vision systems, and associated equipment like sensing devices and hoists.
Key Responsibilities:1. Preventive Maintenance Perform routine preventive maintenance of robotic assembly equipment.
Ensure minimal downtime and extend the life of robotics and automation systems.
Document and track maintenance activities as per maintenance schedules.
2. Troubleshooting and Repairs Diagnose and repair faults in robotic systems.
Perform PLC troubleshooting, including resolving communication issues between different PLCs (e.g., Siemens, Allen Bradley).
Execute emergency repairs to reduce production downtime.
3. Vision System Maintenance Maintain and troubleshoot vision systems deployed for quality checks and positioning tasks.
Ensure vision systems are calibrated and functioning accurately for production requirements.
4. Drive Systems Maintenance Handle maintenance and troubleshooting of Siemens Drives, SEW Drives, and other motor control units.
Optimize performance and ensure reliability of all drive systems in the assembly line.
5. Sensing Devices Management Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot various sensors (proximity, inductive, optical, ultrasonic, etc.).
Ensure precise and reliable operation of sensors critical to automated assembly processes.
6. Electrical Hoists Maintenance Maintain, inspect, and repair electrical hoists used for material handling in the assembly area.
Conduct routine safety checks and ensure compliance with safety standards.
Required Skills: Strong knowledge of robotic systems maintenance and troubleshooting.
Expertise in PLC systems, especially Siemens and Allen Bradley.
Experience with vision systems, drives, and industrial automation sensors.
Ability to read and interpret electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical schematics.
Proficient in root cause analysis and problem-solving.
Familiarity with safety protocols related to robotic and electrical equipment.
Educational Qualifications:
Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, Instrumentation, or a related field.
Experience:3–8 years of hands-on experience in industrial automation maintenance, preferably in automotive, manufacturing, or electronics assembly lines.
Work Conditions:
Willingness to work in rotating shifts and during planned maintenance shutdowns.
On-site presence at the assembly line as required.
