Job Description

Job Title: Maintenance Engineer – Robotic & Automation Systems Department: Maintenance / Engineering Work Type: Full-Time | On-site Experience: 2–6 Years Job Purpose: To ensure the smooth operation of robotic assembly systems by performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting faults, and maintaining critical components such as drives, vision systems, sensing devices, and electrical hoists. Key Responsibilities:1. Preventive Maintenance Execute scheduled preventive maintenance activities on robotic assembly equipment. Ensure machinery operates at peak performance while extending equipment life. 2. Troubleshooting and Repairs Identify, diagnose, and repair electrical/mechanical faults in robotic systems. Troubleshoot and resolve PLC-related issues, including communication between different PLCs. 3. Vision System Maintenance Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on machine vision systems used for quality inspection. Ensure optimal calibration and configuration for accurate detection and control. 4. Drive Systems Maintain and troubleshoot Siemens Drives and SEW Drives used in automation processes. Monitor performance, detect irregularities, and take corrective action. 5. Sensing Devices Install, maintain, and troubleshoot proximity sensors, photoelectric sensors, encoders, and other sensing equipment. Verify safe and accurate functioning within the automation system. 6. Electrical Hoists Maintain and repair electrical hoists and lifting mechanisms. Conduct safety inspections and ensure compliance with safety standards. Requirements: Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, or related engineering discipline. 2–6 years of hands-on experience in robotic system maintenance, especially in an industrial manufacturing environment. Skills & Competencies: Proficiency in troubleshooting PLC systems (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, etc.). Knowledge of robotic systems and automated machinery. Familiarity with vision systems (e.g., Cognex, Keyence) and sensing technology. Understanding of VFDs, drive systems, and hoisting mechanisms. Strong analytical, diagnostic, and documentation skills. Ability to work in shifts and respond to breakdowns swiftly. Preferred Qualifications: Exposure to automotive/robotic manufacturing industries. Knowledge of TPM, 5S, and industrial safety protocols. Basic knowledge of SCADA/HMI integration.
