Legal Manager - Non litigation

Job Summary:

non-litigation legal matters related to mortgaged and secured loans

Key Responsibilities:

1. Secured Lending & Mortgage Documentation

• Handle

  non-litigation legal matters

  related to

  secured/mortgaged loans

  including home loans, LAP, and other secured products.
• Conduct

  legal vetting of property documents

  , title search reports, and ownership records to assess clear and marketable title.
• Draft, review, and finalize

  MODTD (Memorandum of Deposit of Title Deeds)

  and other mortgage-related documentation.
• Ensure proper execution, stamping, and registration of mortgage documents as per applicable laws.
  

2. Legal Vetting & Due Diligence

• Perform detailed

  legal due diligence

  for properties located in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
• Identify legal risks, deviations, and suggest mitigants to credit and business teams.
  
• Provide legal opinions and clarifications on property, title, and compliance-related issues.
  

3. Stakeholder Coordination

• Act as a key legal liaison with

  Sales, Credit, and Operations teams

  to support business requirements.
• Provide timely legal inputs to facilitate smooth loan processing and disbursement.
  
• Support credit teams with legal clarifications during appraisal and approval stages.
  

4. Vendor & Panel Management

• Manage and coordinate with

  external legal vendors, advocates, and law firms

  across assigned locations.
• Allocate cases for legal searches, vetting, and documentation to panel advocates.
  
• Monitor vendor performance, quality, TAT, and adherence to company policies.
  

5. Legal MIS & Reporting

• Maintain and update

  legal MIS

  related to cases, vendors, documentation status, and pending issues.
• Prepare periodic reports for management on legal activities, risks, and turnaround times.
  
• Ensure proper documentation and audit readiness.
  

6. Compliance & Risk Management

• Ensure compliance with internal legal policies, SOPs, and regulatory requirements.
  
• Identify potential legal risks in lending transactions and proactively recommend solutions.
  
• Support internal and external audits related to legal and documentation processes.
  

7. Travel & Regional Coverage

• Handle legal operations for

  Andhra Pradesh and Telangana

  .
• Execute a

  monthly travel plan

  , including regular visits to

  Visakhapatnam and Vijayawada

  , to support branches, vendors, and business teams.

Desired Candidate Profile:

• LLB / LLM from a recognized university.
  
• 510 years of relevant experience in

  non-litigation legal roles

  , preferably in NBFCs, banks, housing finance companies, or financial institutions.
• Strong understanding of

  property laws, mortgage laws, stamp acts, and registration procedures

  in AP & Telangana.
• Hands-on experience in

  legal vetting, MODTD drafting, and secured lending documentation

  .
• Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and vendors effectively.
  
• Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned region.
