Job Description

Our client, a multinational financial services company is seeking an experienced legal professional to join our Bangalore-based legal team as Legal Counsel , supporting the Global Payment Services (GPS) legal function. The role involves providing legal and negotiation support on documentation matters related to global payments, working closely with internal stakeholders such as Product, Implementations, and Sales. The position offers growth opportunities as part of the broader legal offshoring strategy. Key Responsibilities: Provide negotiation-related legal support and guidance, ensuring timely escalation of complex or high-risk matter Review and advise on a range of documents, includin g Master Services Agreemen ts , Confidentiality and Regulatory Annex es , Service Agreements for Corporate Car ds, an d Virtual Account arrangemen t Conduct gap analysis between standard terms and bespoke documentation Ensure legal risks are identified, escalated, and addressed in line with internal guideline Support legal aspects of product implementations, ensuring compliance with negotiation playbooks and GPS policies Collaborate with global legal teams where necessary to ensure alignment and risk mitigation. This role is ideal for candidates with strong legal advisory and contract negotiation experience in banking or financial services. Qualifications: Qualified lawyer (preferably from a common law jurisdiction) wi th 8–10 years’ experie nce in banking and finance Proven expertise in drafting and negotiating documentation related to Global Payment Servi ces — including Master Services Agreements, Confidentiality Annexes, Board Resolutions, and service agreements for cash and card products Strong understanding of banking, payments, and regulatory framewo rks; experience in managing legal and documentation risks Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively with legal, implementation, and business teams across jurisdictions To learn more about the opportunity, please write to soni@vahura.com.
