Lead Solar Design Engineer – Rooftop & Utility Projects

Required Experience & Knowledge:

• Education:

  Degree or Diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering

• Experience:

  Minimum 4 years in solar system design – including both rooftop and ground-mounted projects

• Industry Background:

  Strong preference for candidates with experience in Solar EPC or renewable energy design roles

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the solar design team for rooftop and utility-scale solar EPC projects
• Prepare detailed solar plant designs, electrical SLDs, and layout drawings using AutoCAD
• Perform technical feasibility studies and optimize system configurations using PVsyst, Helioscope, or similar tools
• Ensure technical accuracy, efficiency, and quality in all project designs
• Coordinate with procurement, execution, and operations teams for material selection, BOQs, and site requirements
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, DISCOM regulations, and safety norms
• Oversee preparation of technical documentation, shadow analysis, yield estimation, and customer proposals

Skills Needed:

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, PVsyst, Helioscope, and Google SketchUp
• Knowledge of DISCOM, MNRE, and IEC standards
• Strong understanding of electrical engineering, inverter sizing, and module configuration
• Ability to lead a team and manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Excellent technical documentation and communication skills
