Lead QA/QC Engineer – Kochi, Kerala

Position: QA/QC Engineer

Location: Kochi, Kerala

Department: Projects
Experience: 7+ years experience in QA/QC roles within the EPC / Industrial / Infrastructure sector.

Reporting To: QAQC Manager

Role Summary:

To ensure that all project construction and installation activities comply with applicable quality standards, codes, client specifications, and company procedures. The QA/QC Engineer will be responsible for implementing and monitoring quality systems throughout all stages of the EPC project.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and maintain QA/QC plans, ITPs (Inspection & Test Plans), and quality checklists for the project.
• Conduct inspections and witness tests during fabrication, erection, and commissioning activities.
• Ensure material traceability, calibration of instruments, and maintenance of QA/QC documentation.
• Coordinate with client representatives, third-party inspectors, and internal teams for inspection and quality clearances.
• Review and approve vendor QAPs, WPS, PQR, and other quality-related documents.
• Monitor site quality performance and ensure corrective and preventive actions for any NCRs or deviations.
• Support project audits, maintain inspection records, and ensure compliance with ISO standards.
• Provide training and awareness on quality procedures to site personnel.

Qualifications & Experience:

• B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical / Civil Engineering.
• In-depth knowledge of IS, ASME, AWS, API, and ISO standards relevant to project scope.

Preferred Certifications:

• ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor Certification
• ASNT Level II / III (RT, UT, MT, PT)
• Welding Inspector Certification (CSWIP / AWS-CWI)
• NDT Level II Certification

Key Skills & Competencies:

• Strong understanding of EPC project quality requirements and documentation.
• Proficiency in preparing QA/QC reports, NCRs, and inspection documentation.
• Excellent coordination and communication skills.
• Hands-on experience with MS Office and QA/QC management tools.
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
