We’re seeking someone to join our CDRR Technology team as a Lead Java Developer, in Non-Financial Risk Technology to work on application built on Java (Scala/Spark) leveraging Spring boot, microservices and other backend technologies. Work closely with the local/global colleagues, and internal clients within the department, the candidate will be involved in all stages of the development life cycle.In the Technology division, we leverage innovation to build the connections and capabilities that power our Firm, enabling our clients and colleagues to redefine markets and shape the future of our communities. What You’ll Do In The Role
- Partner with internal clients, and the rest of the team to establish/agree on requirements and systems functionality, delivering value incrementally through pragmatic Agile practices
- Design and implement relevant surveillance models or analysis tools, leveraging big data platforms
- Deploy, maintain and performance tune relevant surveillance tools, and take accountability for production performance, in partnership with Production Management teams, to maximize efficiency, stability and ultimately business value
- Promote the use of modern technologies, adhering with the firm’s technical direction. Drive the modernization initiatives and decommission of legacy products within the team
- Establish and promote SDLC and architecture best practices, in line with departmental and divisional guidance, along with a strong focus in DevOPS/SRE principles in partnership with support and central engineering teams.

What You’ll Bring To The Role
- 10+ Yrs. Of career experience with Java backend development.
- High quality software architecture and design methodologies and patterns.
- Experience in Trading domain will be preferred.
- Complete SDLC process and Agile mindset and methodology (Scrum or Kanban)
- Database experience preferably with DB2, Sybase, or Oracle.
- Knowledge on Hadoop, Databricks, Snowflake (or other cloud based big data solutions).
- At least 6 years' relevant experience would generally be expected to find the skills required for this role
Other Skills Desired
- Previous experience in trade surveillance, electronic trading or working with data from the order, quote, trade, risk transaction lifecycles within Equity or Fixed Income.
- Experience of Scala or Python on Spark. XML-based technologies. Unix OS, Scripting, Python or notebook type technologies.
- Experience in development on other application types (Web applications, batch, or streaming).
