Role Overview:

The Senior / Lead Electrical Engineer will be responsible for the design, development, and delivery of electrical engineering packages for Oil & Gas projects. The role involves leading the electrical design team, ensuring technical compliance with project specifications, codes, and client requirements, and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to achieve project objectives within schedule and budget.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and execute electrical design activities for onshore/offshore Oil & Gas projects (FEED and detailed engineering phases).
  • Prepare and review design deliverables such as single line diagrams, load lists, cable schedules, equipment layouts, schematics, and material take-offs.
  • Perform electrical system studies — load flow, short circuit, motor starting, and protection coordination using ETAP or similar tools.
  • Develop specifications and datasheets for major electrical equipment (transformers, switchgear, MCCs, VFDs, UPS, lighting, earthing, etc.).
  • Review vendor drawings and ensure compliance with project and industry standards.
  • Interface and coordinate with process, instrumentation, civil/structural, and mechanical teams.
  • Support procurement activities and provide technical clarifications to vendors.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant international codes and standards (IEC, IEEE, IS, API, NEC, etc.).
  • Lead and mentor junior engineers and designers in the electrical discipline.
  • Participate in design reviews (3D model, HAZOP, HAZID) and client/consultant meetings.


Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Master’s degree preferred).
  • 10-15 years of relevant experience in electrical design within the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, or Energy sector.
  • Experience with EPC / FEED projects preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of design tools such as

    ETAP, Smart Plant Electrical, AutoCAD, Navisworks,

    and

    MS Office

    .
  • Familiarity with project execution procedures, quality standards, and engineering workflows.
  • Excellent communication, coordination, and leadership skills.
