About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer with expertise in power distribution systems to join our team. The role involves planning, designing, and overseeing electrical distribution projects while coordinating effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

• Communicate and coordinate with all project stakeholders.
• Prepare electrical system plans, load forecasts, and electrical master plans.
• Write detailed electrical specifications.
• Attend design and project meetings as required.
• Design power distribution and street lighting systems for residential and commercial developments.
• Maintain and oversee critical project documentation including drawings, files, spreadsheets, and records.
• Develop electrical system designs, including one-line diagrams, load calculations, and equipment sizing.
• Design and approve distribution system expansions or rehabilitations.
• Provide utility coordination, relocation services, and joint-use project administration.
• Supervise and mentor Designers, Engineering Technologists, and Technicians.
• Facilitate design reviews to ensure quality and accuracy at key project milestones.

Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in power distribution design and engineering (ideally 5 to 10 years total experience).
• In-depth knowledge of North American electrical distribution systems.
• Familiarity with power distribution fundamentals, OESC, CSA Standards, and distribution system specifications.
• Proven experience designing underground and overhead power systems (120/208V up to 35kV).
• Familiarity with photometric calculation software for roadway and area lighting.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Experience with SPIDACalc or similar pole loading software is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills in English (written and verbal).
• Self-starter with a high level of motivation and a track record of delivering results.
