ABOUT THE HANS FOUNDATION
The Hans Foundation (THF), established in 2009, is a Public Charitable Trust that works towards creating an equitable society to enhance quality of life for all through the empowerment of marginalized and underprivileged communities in India. The Hans Foundation works for the Health and Wellbeing of remote and under-served groups, with an additional focus on children, persons with disabilities and women. THF also works for holistic Education and Livelihood development of our communities. Our Two-Fold Strategy involves identifying and working within Aspirational Districts and high poverty index in the North, North-East and East regions within specific states, as well as catering to lower-income and migratory populations in cities, through urban programs.
Over its 15 years of existence, THF has reached more than 35 million beneficiaries through its programs. THF works with communities through direct implementation of projects on the ground in addition to providing local management and monitoring support to not-for-profit organisations in India funded through THF USA and RIST.

Position Overview:
The Tutor will provide academic support to students both within school hours and outside school settings through Community-Based Learning Centres (CBLs). The role focuses on implementing remedial education programs, fostering academic improvement, and addressing educational gaps. The incumbent will work closely with students, parents, and community stakeholders to promote retention in schools and enhance academic outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Training and Instruction:
o Conduct engaging and informative training sessions for students in the Tinkering Lab, covering various aspects of biology, chemistry, and physics.
o Guide students through practical experiments, activities, and projects to enhance their understanding of scientific concepts.
o Foster an environment of creativity and curiosity, encouraging students to explore scientific concepts through hands-on learning.
2. Curriculum and Module Development:
o Design and develop learning modules for Biology, Chemistry, and Physics for the Tinkering Lab that are aligned with educational goals and standards.
o Collaborate with the academic team to ensure modules are progressive, engaging, and provide a comprehensive understanding of scientific principles.
o Update and revise curriculum content periodically based on student feedback, educational trends, and technological advancements.
3. Monitoring and Progress Tracking:
o Track student progress and provide feedback on individual and group performance in the lab.
o Ensure all students follow lab safety guidelines and protocols during their learning activities.
4. School Visit and Time Management:
o Ensure punctuality and regular attendance at the school, with monitoring via biometric attendance system.
o Be present for the duration of the assigned work hours, with a set schedule for visits and lab sessions.
o Regularly report on the progress of lab activities and student learning outcomes.
5. Equipment and Resource Management:
o Ensure proper maintenance and organization of lab materials and equipment, ensuring they are safe, functional, and available for student use.
o Identify and recommend the purchase of new tools or resources that can enhance the lab experience.
Qualifications and Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.

Prior experience in teaching or training, preferably in a lab-based or hands-on learning environment.

Strong understanding of scientific principles and ability to simplify complex concepts for students.

Timeline and Monitoring:
- School Visit: The instructor will be required to visit the school on the scheduled days as per the academic calendar. The timeline of visits will be regularly monitored via the biometric attendance system.
- Working Hours: Specific hours will be communicated and should be strictly adhered to.
