Junior Data Engineer

Job Title:

We are looking for a passionate and detail-oriented Junior Data Engineer to join our growing data team. You will assist in building, maintaining, and optimizing data pipelines and architectures that enable efficient data collection, transformation, and analysis. This role is ideal for someone with strong analytical skills and a desire to learn modern data engineering tools and cloud technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the design and implementation of scalable data pipelines and ETL workflows.
• Assist in developing and maintaining data models, databases, and data warehouses.
• Work with structured and unstructured data to ensure quality, consistency, and accessibility.
• Collaborate with Data Scientists, Analysts, and Engineers to deliver clean and reliable datasets.
• Monitor and optimize data workflows for performance and efficiency.
• Troubleshoot data-related issues and perform root-cause analysis.
• Document processes, data flows, and technical solutions for ongoing reference.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or a related field.
• 0–2 years of experience in data engineering or related roles (internship or academic project experience acceptable).
• Proficiency in SQL and basic understanding of database management systems (MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc.).
• Familiarity with programming languages such as Python or Java.
• Understanding of ETL concepts, data integration, and data modeling.
• Basic knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and data services.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with data pipeline tools (Apache Airflow, Luigi, or similar).
• Exposure to big data frameworks such as Spark or Hadoop.
• Knowledge of data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, or Looker).
• Familiarity with version control (Git) and CI/CD practices.
• Understanding of APIs and data ingestion techniques.
