Role Overview As Kass’s Visual Design Executive, you'll own end-to-end visual storytelling —from strategy to execution—spanning video, motion, brand films, and design. This hybrid leadership role reports to the Creative Director, with far-reaching influence across product, marketing, and design. Key Responsibilities 1. Video & Motion Production · Lead cinematic video editing—Reels, Ad creatives, long‑form YouTube content, campaign films. · Plan and execute shoots: shot lists, lighting, transitions, sound design. · Sync voice-over, music, text, and motion for emotional storytelling. 2. Motion Graphics & 3D Support · Design 2D/3D motion elements: kinetic typography, ingredient animations, transitions using After Effects, Blender/C4D. · Produce brand visuals and educational explainers. 3. AI & Innovation · Drive an AI-forward workflow using tools like Runway, Midjourney, Leonardo.ai, Kaiber, and Pika. · Track trends in video, 3D, and design technology; suggest and pilot new tools and workflows. 4. Cross-Functional & Stakeholder Collaboration · Partner closely with marketing, product, UX, and engineering teams. · Communicate design rationale, lead client or founder-facing presentations, integrate feedback. · Manage project timelines, budgets, and vendor relationships. 5. Design Strategy & Creative Leadership · Shape visual design strategy across digital (social, email, web) and physical (packaging, print, environmental). · Mentor and guide junior designers in ideation, execution, and presentation. · Create and maintain design systems, style guides, and brand frameworks. Qualifications & Skills Must-Have: · 3–4 years of experience combining video editing and graphic design (professional or brand-focused). · Deep cinematography understanding—lighting, composition, pacing, transitions. · Expert-level proficiency in Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or Final Cut; high competence in After Effects. · Hands-on experience with Instagram Reels, branded shorts, product films, and long video storytelling. · Strong design foundation—typography, layout, color theory—with advanced Adobe Creative Suite skills. · Proven team leadership, mentorship, or project management experience. · A portfolio that showcases cinematic storytelling, brand films, beauty/fashion D2C work. · Solid sound design and musical sync skills. Nice to Have: · Experience in Blender, Cinema4D, or similar for product and ingredient animations. · Familiarity with Figma, Sketch, Canva. · Beauty/wellness or lifestyle brand experience. · Demonstrated efficiency with prompt-based AI video/image generation.
