Job Title: Lab Associate – Life Science (CIIC/001/LS)

Education            :M.Sc (Biotechnology/ Microbiology/relevant Life science Course)

Role Responsibilities

• Combine hands-on laboratory work (sample prep, testing, equipment operation) with administrative tasks (record keeping, scheduling, vendor coordination)
• Assist diverse research projects from early-stage startups and student teams with varying timelines, budgets, and technical requirements.
• Guide students and startups through proper lab protocols, safety procedures, and experimental design & coordination of Training programs.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

Ø M.Sc (Biotechnology/ Microbiology), or related field

Education            : ITI or Diploma (Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, or related fields)

Position Summary:

Crescent Innovation and Incubation Council (CIIC) is seeking a hands-on and motivated Technical Support Associate to assist with the operation and maintenance of its state-of-the-art makerspace and prototyping lab.

This role is ideal for candidates with ITI or Diploma qualifications and 1–2 years of relevant experience in a technical, workshop, or lab environment.

The associate will support daily lab activities, guide users on equipment usage, perform maintenance, and ensure safety and cleanliness of the workspace.

Key Responsibilities:

·       Operate and assist users with makerspace equipment, including:

·       3D Printers (FDM)

·       Laser Cutters

·       CNC Machines / Vinyl Cutters

·       Soldering Stations and Basic Electronics Tools

·       Hand and Power Tools

·       Provide basic technical support and troubleshooting for users and residents.

·       Perform preventive maintenance and minor repairs on lab equipment.

·       Support workshops, training sessions, and innovation programs hosted at CIIC.

·       Enforce lab safety guidelines and ensure proper use of tools and protective gear.

·       Maintain inventory of consumables, tools, and spare parts.

·       Keep the workspace clean, organized, and user-ready at all times.

Required Qualifications:

·       ITI Certificate or Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, or a similar field.

·       1–2 years of hands-on experience in a makerspace, fabrication lab, or industrial workshop.

·       Basic understanding of 3D printing, CNC, electronics, and fabrication tools.

·       Familiarity with any CAD or slicing software (e.g., Tinkercad,Solidworks,Cura, Fusion 360) is a plus.

Good communication skills and a service-oriented attitude.
