Role Overview As a Java Developer (GIS) at Hubnex Labs, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable GIS-based web applications. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement robust and high-performance solutions, leveraging both backend and frontend technologies. A deep understanding of Java, GIS tools, and spatial databases is essential for success in this role. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain GIS-enabled applications using Java, ensuring performance, scalability, and security Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers, UI/UX designers, and QA engineers to deliver high-quality features Participate in code reviews, debugging, and performance tuning to ensure robust production deployments Integrate external and internal RESTful APIs, spatial data sources, and geospatial services Stay current with evolving trends in GIS technologies, cloud platforms, and full-stack development Technical Expertise Required Core Technologies Java (Java 8 or above), Spring Boot, JPA/Hibernate Frontend: Proficiency in Angular or React, along with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript GIS Expertise Experience with GIS tools and libraries such as OpenLayers, Leaflet, ArcGIS, QGIS Familiarity with spatial databases such as PostGIS, and PostgreSQL with geospatial extensions Architecture & APIs Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs Exposure to microservices architecture Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure Additional Tools (Good To Have) React Native, Node.js, Python for scripting and data handling Exposure to DevOps tools, containerization (Docker), and CI/CD pipelines Qualifications & Competencies Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in software development, with a focus on Java and GIS applications Proven ability to deliver scalable, secure, and reliable solutions Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent communication, collaboration, and documentation abilities Proactive mindset with a commitment to continuous learning and improvement Why Join Hubnex Labs?
