Job Description

Position Overview

We are looking for a passionate and skilled IoT Software Engineer to design and deliver next-generation Industrial Safety IoT applications. This role involves building robust IoT ecosystems that integrate safety sensors, wearables, and industrial equipment with cloud and analytics platforms to predict, prevent, and manage workplace risks. You will collaborate with safety experts, hardware engineers, and data scientists to develop scalable, secure, and compliant IoT solutions for industrial environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deploy IoT-based safety solutions (e.g., gas leak detection, PPE compliance, fall detection, machine monitoring).
  • Integrate safety sensors, wearables, and smart devices with gateways and cloud platforms.
  • Work on industrial IoT protocols (MQTT, OPC-UA, Modbus, BACnet, LoRaWAN, Zigbee).
  • Build real-time monitoring dashboards for safety observations and predictive analytics.
  • Implement edge computing solutions for local decision-making and alerts.
  • Ensure data security, integrity, and regulatory compliance (Factories Act, OSHA, ISO 45001).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams for integration with safety management systems (incident reporting, audit trails, compliance software).
  • Conduct system testing, debugging, and performance optimization in harsh industrial environments.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelors/Masters degree in Computer Science, Electronics, IoT, or related field.
  • 2 to 5 years of hands-on experience in IoT software development.
  • Strong programming skills in Python, C/C++, or Java for embedded and application layers.
  • Experience with cloud IoT platforms (AWS IoT Core, Azure IoT Hub, Google Cloud IoT).
  • Familiarity with industrial IoT protocols (MQTT, OPC-UA, Modbus, LoRaWAN).
  • Strong understanding of real-time data processing, APIs, and databases (SQL/NoSQL).
  • Experience in data visualization tools (Grafana, Power BI, or custom dashboards).
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices for IoT in industrial networks.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in Industrial IoT (IIoT) or safety-critical systems.
  • Exposure to AI/ML models for predictive maintenance or safety risk forecasting.
  • Familiarity with edge AI frameworks (TensorFlow Lite, TinyML, Edge Impulse).
  • Experience with RTOS (FreeRTOS, Zephyr) for safety wearables or sensors.
  • Prior work in safety compliance tools (EHS software, safety audit platforms).

Soft Skills

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical mindset with safety-first thinking.
  • Ability to translate safety requirements into IoT technical solutions.
  • Clear communication and ability to work with safety officers, engineers, and managers.
  • Proactive in keeping up with emerging IIoT and safety technologies.
