Inventory Analyst

An Inventory Analyst monitors, analyzes, and optimizes a company's stock levels, using data to balance meeting customer demand with minimizing holding costs, preventing stockouts or overstocking. They use analytical skills and systems (like ERPs) to track inventory, forecast needs, report on trends, manage obsolescence, and work with sales/procurement to create efficient supply chain strategies. This critical role exists across retail, manufacturing, and logistics to boost profitability.
Core ResponsibilitiesData Analysis: Extract, manipulate, and analyze inventory data to find insights and trends.Forecasting: Predict future demand for products using sales history and market data.Optimization: Develop strategies (promotions, bundling) to move slow-moving stock and maintain ideal levels.Reporting: Create reports for management on inventory performance, costs, and risks.Process Improvement: Identify inefficiencies and help implement new inventory control protocols.Collaboration: Work with procurement, operations, and sales teams to align inventory with business goals.System Management: Maintain and use inventory management software (like ERPs) for real-time tracking.
