Program Overview for Sustainable Cities and Transport

Healthy Cities for Adolescent Program

WRI India in collaboration with the Healthy Cities for Adolescents (HCA) program - A global Foundation BOTNAR initiative that aims to enhance the health and well-being of adolescents in secondary cities through multi-stakeholder, community-centered and -led interventions. It intends to facilitate greater voice and participation of adolescents in city planning to create Safe, Vibrant and Healthy Public Places.


Job Highlight:

WRI India has convened the Safe, Vibrant and Healthy Public Spaces project in Bhubaneswar, Odisha. We are looking for a candidate to assist the project lead and our local partners in

implementing project activities, convening local stakeholders, interacting with authorities, cocreating and designing public spaces and ensuring timely delivery of the project.


What you will do:

You will undertake and oversee a range of project responsibilities as listed below.

• Support the team leads in outreach and advocacy of project tasks including workshops, events, stakeholder meetings and citizen coordination.

• Provide regular help and support to local partners.

• Organize and support in organizing events, conducting capacity building workshops, and stakeholder engagement activities, webinars etc.

• Assist in the design, development and modelling of public spaces including creating of 2D drawings/3D renderings etc.

• Co-ordinate with Government officials and local partners for project- related activities.


Communication and Partnerships

• Assist the city team in coordinating and scheduling meetings regarding projects among team and with external partners.

• Support internal and external communications, and media relations responsibilities such as brochures and web content.

• Coordinate outreach efforts on behalf of program/projects and anchor partner engagement activities.

• Assist and / or carry out research in identified area of work including development of Presentations, Reports, Blogs, Data Analysis, etc.

• Cultivate ideas and author or co-author knowledge products (e.g., reports, photo stories, blogs etc.)

• Perform research for preparing knowledge products for capacity building.


What you will need:

• Graduate or pursuing Master's Architecture/ Urban Planning and other equivalent fields

• Minimum 0-1 years of work experience in relevant field

• The candidate should have an adequate understanding of urban design principles & guidelines.

• Proficiency in English and Odia is a must. (Reading and Writing).

• Must be a resident of the city and is familiar with the geography of Bhubaneswar city

• Proficiency in Office 365 applications including SharePoint, Teams & OneDrive

• Working knowledge of Adobe Suite, Canva, AutoCAD, Sketch-Up other related software is preferred. GIS familiarity is desirable

• Ability to work both independently as well as part of a team

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required

• Ability to work calmly and enthusiastically under high pressure
