Job Description

Position: Insourced Vehicle Lead

Designation: Assistant Manager – Manager

Function: Logistics

Place: Guwahati, Assam

Credentials: Any Graduate / MBA

Responsibilities:

•To ensure efficient & safe operation, utilization, compliance, and cost control of company-owned (insourced) vehicles used for Logistics operations

•Plan and allocate insourced vehicles for daily cement and clinker dispatch as per daily planning

•Coordinate with plant logistics, sales, and depot teams to meet agreed delivery commitments

•Ensure adherence to loading schedules, route plans, and turnaround time (TAT) norms

•Driver Coordination & Control: Manage deployment, attendance, and shift rosters of drivers, including keeping a close watch on driving behavior, punctuality, and delivery adherence

•Arrange safety briefings and training for drivers (plant safety, road safety, bulk material handling etc.)

•Maintain and execute schedule for preventive maintenance, servicing, and repairs to minimize downtime

•Coordinate with workshops and OEM service providers

•Ensure availability and validity of RC, Insurance, National/State Permit, Fitness Certificate, PUC, Road Tax etc.

•Ensure compliance with Motor Vehicles Act, plant safety norms, and company policies

•Prepare daily, weekly & monthly MIS on Cost, Vehicle availability & utilization, Dispatch performance, Breakdown & downtime, Fuel efficiency and share performance dashboards with concerned stakeholders

•Support in budgeting and forecasting for insourced vehicle operations

•Investigate accidents, breakdowns, or delivery delays and recommend corrective actions

•Support initiatives to improve TAT, reduce detention, and enhance service levels
