Inprocess Quality Engineer

Job Title: In-Process Quality Engineer (VMC/CNC Machining)

Reporting To: Quality Manager / Quality Head

Job Purpose:

To ensure the quality of machined components during production by performing in-process inspections, maintaining quality documentation, and assisting in resolving quality issues on the shop floor for CNC and VMC machining operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct in-process and final inspection of machined parts as per drawings, process sheets, and quality plans.
• Verify dimensions, surface finish, and tolerances using precision measuring instruments (Vernier Caliper, Micrometer, Bore Gauge, Height Gauge, etc.).
• Perform first piece approval and process validation for new setups.
• Monitor and control in-process quality parameters to prevent non-conformities.
• Record and maintain inspection reports, control charts, and quality documentation.
• Support root cause analysis (RCA) and implementation of corrective & preventive actions (CAPA) for quality issues.
• Coordinate with production and maintenance teams to ensure adherence to process standards.
• Assist in calibration of measuring instruments and maintain their records.
• Participate in internal quality audits and 5S/Kaizen initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 quality management system requirements.

Required Skills & Competencies:

• Knowledge of CNC/VMC machining processes and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
• Proficiency in using measuring instruments (micrometers, vernier calipers, CMM — basic exposure desirable).
• Familiarity with engineering drawings and process sheets.
• Understanding of quality tools like 7QC Tools, Pareto, Fishbone Diagram, etc.
• Basic knowledge of MS Office for documentation and reporting.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Detail-oriented and committed to maintaining high quality standards.

Educational Qualification:

• Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical, Production, or Industrial Engineering.

Preferred Experience:

• 1–2 years of hands-on experience in in-process quality inspection in a CNC/VMC machining or precision component manufacturing setup.
• Exposure to automotive / aerospace / engineering components manufacturing will be an added advantage.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹21,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
