I&C Engineer - TSI

Role Overview: bp Technical Solutions India (TSI) centre in Pune is looking for an ICE Subject Matter Expert to provide expertise related to instrumented protective systems and process controls in support of the TSI based region squads and solutions program activity. As an ICE Subject Matter Expert, you will be responsible for assessing, prioritizing, and supporting the delivery of the subject area engineering backlog, maintaining lookahead schedules, providing expertise to MoCs, brownfield projects, and modifications, ensuring cyber security risk controls, and more. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of regional automation systems. Key Responsibilities: - Provide ICE subject area expertise related to instrumented protective systems and process controls - Assess, prioritize, and support the delivery of the subject area engineering backlog - Maintain lookahead schedules and prioritize the subject area backlog - Provide expertise to MoCs, brownfield projects, and modifications - Lead and contribute to the Functional Safety Programme - Define and deliver the Self-Verification of owned Engineered Barriers and Performance Standards - Ensure cyber security risk controls are in place on all regional automation systems - Develop and update technical content of Equipment Strategies - Perform reliability analysis for instrument, control, and electrical equipment - Lead on resolution of complex technical issues related to instrumentation and control equipment - Assure quality and consistency of surveillance and reporting of excursions - Review and approve critical document updates - Collaborate with suppliers for control and instrumentation requirements - Provide technical feedback to contractor performance - Participate in digitalization initiatives - Develop plans for obsolescence management and digital security compliance - Perform oversight on contractors" day-to-day activities Qualifications Required: - Degree in Mechatronics, Instrumentation, Chemical Engineering, or Electrical - Preferably Chartered Engineer or registered professional engineer - TUV certification - Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in oil and gas/petrochemical/refining/chemical industry - Good knowledge of governing codes, industry standards, and local laws relevant to I&C engineering - Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact effectively with people at all levels - Experience with process or process control engineering at a refinery or petrochemical plant - Good working knowledge of control system platforms of major DCS vendors Additional Company Details: The role may require up to 10% travel and is eligible for relocation within the country.
