Job Title : Human Resources Manager Location : BBD Bagh, Kolkata Industry : Pharmaceutical (Export-focused) Experience : 8+ Years in HR (with at least 5 years in Pharma industry) Employment Type : Full-Time Reporting To : Director / Head – HR / CEO Job Role Summary : We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager with a strong background in the pharmaceutical industry to oversee all aspects of HR practices and processes. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the HR department and aligning HR strategies with the company’s export-focused pharmaceutical operations. Key Responsibilities : Strategic HR Management Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with the overall business strategy of the export pharma unit. Work closely with senior management to support organizational goals through talent management and workforce planning. Recruitment & Staffing Lead end-to-end recruitment for middle and senior-level positions across departments including QA/QC, Regulatory Affairs, Production, Sales (International), and Logistics. Collaborate with external recruiters and agencies as needed. Compliance & Industrial Relations Ensure statutory compliance related to labor laws (Factories Act, Shops & Establishments Act, ESI, PF, etc.). Handle audits and inspections related to HR and labor compliance. Address grievances, ensure disciplinary procedures, and manage employee relations. Training & Development Identify training needs and design appropriate L&D programs especially for international regulatory compliance, GMP, GDP, and soft skills. Monitor training effectiveness and ensure continuous professional development. Performance Management Oversee the implementation of performance appraisal systems (KRA-based/OKR). Drive the annual appraisal cycle and promote a culture of feedback and meritocracy. HR Operations & Administration Manage payroll, attendance, leave, and benefits administration. Maintain HRMS and employee records efficiently. Supervise HR documentation for audits, export regulatory requirements (especially HRD dossiers). Employee Engagement & Retention Plan and execute employee engagement activities. Monitor attrition trends and implement retention strategies, especially for high-value and niche pharma talent. Desired Candidate Profile : Education : MBA/PGDM in HR or equivalent qualification from a recognized institute. Experience : Minimum 8 years of HR experience with at least 5 years in the pharmaceutical industry (preferably export-oriented). Proven experience in handling regulatory and compliance issues in pharma. Hands-on experience in HR operations and software (HRMS). Strong understanding of labor laws and statutory compliances. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work independently and in a leadership capacity. Preferred Skills : Knowledge of international HR compliance (EU/US-FDA/MHRA requirements). Exposure to working with cross-functional and global teams. Proficiency in Bengali, Hindi, and English.
