About the Role

mature, experienced, and hands-on HR Manager


Key Responsibilities

HR Operations & Workforce Management

  • Manage end-to-end HR operations for staff and labour across plant, yard, and site locations
  • Handle recruitment, onboarding, induction, attendance, shift planning, and exits
  • Develop and implement HR policies, SOPs, and disciplinary frameworks
  • Maintain employee records, contracts, and statutory documentation

Labour & Industrial Relations

  • Manage blue-collar workforce, contract labour, supervisors, and site staff
  • Handle labour issues, disputes, misconduct, absenteeism, and productivity concerns
  • Liaise with contractors, labour suppliers, and local authorities when required
  • Ensure peaceful industrial relations and smooth daily operations

Payroll & Compensation

  • Oversee monthly payroll processing for staff and labour (wages, overtime, incentives)
  • Ensure accuracy in attendance, PF, ESI, and statutory deductions
  • Coordinate with accounts and external payroll agencies
  • Handle salary structures, increments, advances, and settlements

Statutory Compliance & Legal

  • Ensure compliance with labour laws including PF, ESI, Minimum Wages, CLRA, Factories Act, Shops & Establishment, etc.
  • Manage audits, inspections, notices, and returns
  • Coordinate with consultants, inspectors, and legal advisors
  • Maintain compliance documentation across all locations

Performance, Discipline & Welfare

  • Implement performance monitoring and appraisal systems
  • Handle disciplinary actions, warning letters, suspensions, and terminations
  • Address employee grievances and welfare issues
  • Support safety, hygiene, and welfare initiatives at plant and site levels

Desired Profile

  • 10–20 years of HR experience

    in industrial environments
  • Strong preference for scrap recycling / metal recycling / manufacturing / EPC / heavy industry

  • Experience handling

    large blue-collar and contract labour workforce

  • Sound knowledge of

    labour laws and statutory compliances

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple locations
  • Strong conflict-resolution and people-management skills
  • Exposure to North & Central India labour practices is a strong advantage

Education

  • Graduate / Post-Graduate in HR, Labour Laws, Industrial Relations, or equivalent
  • Certifications in labour law or payroll management will be an added advantage
