Job Description

Senior Manager HR Business Partner (HRBP)

Industry:

Role Purpose:

To act as a strategic HR partner for the pharma manufacturing plant by driving people strategy, ensuring statutory & regulatory compliance, strengthening employee relations, and supporting business excellence in a regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic HR Business Partnering

  • Partner with Plant Head and Functional Leaders to align HR strategy with manufacturing goals
  • Drive manpower planning, productivity improvement, and cost optimization
  • Support organizational design and change management initiatives

Employee Relations & Industrial Relations (IR)

  • Manage employee relations, grievance handling, disciplinary actions, and domestic enquiries
  • Handle union interactions and negotiations (if applicable)
  • Ensure harmonious industrial relations at the plant

Statutory & Regulatory Compliance

  • Manage contract labor compliance and audits
  • Support regulatory audits (USFDA, WHO, EU) from HR compliance perspective

Talent Management & Performance

  • Drive PMS cycles, goal setting, reviews, and performance improvement plans
  • Support succession planning and leadership development
  • Partner with TA for critical plant hiring (Production, QA, QC, Engineering, EHS)

Compensation & Rewards

  • Support annual increment, promotion, and reward cycles
  • Ensure internal parity and market competitiveness
  • Drive retention strategies for critical talent

Employee Engagement & Culture

  • Lead employee engagement initiatives and communication programs
  • Strengthen shop-floor engagement and connect initiatives
  • Analyze attrition and implement corrective actions

HR Operations Excellence

  • Oversee onboarding, exits, payroll coordination, attendance, and shift systems
  • Ensure HR SOPs, documentation, and audit readiness
  • Drive HR digitization and process improvements

Key Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong understanding of

    pharma manufacturing operations

  • Expertise in

    labor laws, IR, and plant HR operations

  • Experience handling

    shop-floor workforce & contract labor

  • Strong stakeholder management and leadership skills
  • Exposure to regulated manufacturing environments

Preferred Experience:

  • Pharma Manufacturing / API / Formulation / Injectables plant experience
  • Experience supporting regulatory audits
  • Multi-plant or large workforce exposure
