HR Manager (Manufacturing)

As an experienced HR Manager at our steel manufacturing unit, your role will involve leading the Human Resources function with responsibilities including manpower planning, recruitment, industrial relations, statutory compliance, and fostering a safe work culture aligned with company policies and legal frameworks. Key Responsibilities: - Lead and manage plant-level HR operations encompassing recruitment, onboarding, and workforce planning. - Ensure compliance with labor laws and statutory regulations such as PF, ESIC, Gratuity, Bonus, and Factory Act. - Handle industrial relations, including managing unions, grievance redressal, and disciplinary actions. - Conduct training programs to enhance workforce skill sets. - Drive employee engagement and retention initiatives. - Maintain updated employee records, HR MIS, and reports for audits. - Monitor workplace safety, coordinate with EHS teams, and support ISO compliance. - Act as a liaison between management and workers for smooth HR functioning. - Ensure the smooth functioning of performance management systems and coordinate appraisals. Qualifications Required: - MBA/PGDM in Human Resource Management or equivalent. - 5-10 years of HR management experience in the steel or heavy manufacturing industry. - In-depth knowledge of industrial laws, HR policies, and manufacturing HR operations. - Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills. - Ability to manage both white-collar and blue-collar workforce. Preferred Skills: - Experience in union negotiations and handling labor disputes. - Knowledge of safety, CSR, and sustainability practices in manufacturing. - Fluency in local/regional language and English. - Familiarity with ERP systems like SAP or Oracle for HR.
