HR Manager (Manufacturing)

As an experienced HR Manager, you will play a crucial role in leading the Human Resources function at our steel manufacturing unit. Your responsibilities will include: - Leading and managing plant-level HR operations such as recruitment, onboarding, and workforce planning. - Ensuring compliance with labor laws and statutory requirements like PF, ESIC, Gratuity, Bonus, and the Factory Act. - Handling industrial relations, including managing unions, grievance redressal, and disciplinary actions. - Conducting training and development programs to enhance workforce skill sets. - Driving employee engagement and retention initiatives across departments. - Maintaining updated employee records, HR MIS, and reports for audits and management review. - Monitoring workplace safety, coordinating with EHS teams, and supporting ISO compliance. - Acting as the liaison between management and workers to ensure smooth HR functioning. - Ensuring the smooth functioning of performance management systems and coordinating appraisals. Qualifications required for this role include: - MBA/PGDM in Human Resource Management or equivalent qualification. - 5-10 years of experience in HR management within the steel or heavy manufacturing industry. - In-depth knowledge of industrial laws, HR policies, and manufacturing HR operations. - Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills. - Ability to manage both white-collar and blue-collar workforce. Preferred skills that would be beneficial for this role: - Experience in union negotiations and handling labor disputes. - Working knowledge of safety, CSR, and sustainability practices in manufacturing. - Fluency in local/regional language and English. - Familiarity with ERP systems like SAP or Oracle for HR.
