Job Description HR Head – Industrial Relations
Location: Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu
Industry: Manufacturing / Foundry Experience: 10–15 years (preferably in a foundry or heavy manufacturing setup)
Education: MBA in HR / MSW (HR & IR specialization) / PG Diploma in IR & Labour Laws
CTC: 40 to 42 LPA
Job Summary We are seeking a seasoned HR professional to lead the Industrial Relations (IR) function at our Foundry unit in Coimbatore. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining harmonious employee relations, ensuring legal compliance, and implementing effective HR strategies that align with the company’s operational goals.
Key Responsibilities Industrial Relations & Labour Management - Maintain positive and productive relationships with trade unions and shop-floor employees - Negotiate long-term wage settlements and manage union agreements effectively - Address and resolve grievances and disciplinary matters in a timely and fair manner - Ensure a peaceful and compliant work environment through proactive engagement
Statutory Compliance - Ensure compliance with all labor laws and statutory requirements (e.g., Factories Act, PF, ESI, ID Act, CLRA, etc.) - Liaise with government and statutory bodies during inspections, audits, and legal matters HR Operations - Oversee HR processes including attendance, shift management, payroll coordination, and workforce planning - Drive productivity initiatives while ensuring employee welfare and motivation - Implement and monitor HR policies, SOPs, and code of conduct adherence Training & Development - Organize training on safety, workplace discipline, statutory obligations, and behavioral skills - Build employee engagement programs to boost morale and reduce attrition Conflict Resolution & Crisis Management - Investigate and manage industrial disputes, strikes, or unrest professionally - Work closely with plant leadership to mitigate risks and ensure business continuity Key Skills & Competencies - Strong understanding of Indian labor laws and IR practices - Experience dealing with unions and handling negotiations - Excellent communication and conflict-resolution skills - Proactive, ethical, and solution-oriented mindset -
