Job Summary:

The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the housekeeping staff to ensure that guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house areas are clean, well-maintained, and meet the hotel’s standards of cleanliness and presentation. The role involves training and supervising room attendants and other housekeeping staff, conducting inspections, and managing daily operations efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate daily activities of housekeeping staff, including room attendants, public area attendants, and linen room staff.
  • Inspect guest rooms, public areas, and employee areas for cleanliness, appearance, and proper set-up, ensuring hotel standards are met.
  • Train, mentor, and evaluate housekeeping staff on cleaning procedures, safety protocols, and hotel policies.
  • Prepare daily work assignments and allocate rooms/areas to be cleaned.
  • Maintain housekeeping inventory, including linens, cleaning supplies, and guest amenities; assist in stock control and requisitions.
  • Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the Engineering or Maintenance department.
  • Handle guest complaints and special requests professionally and promptly.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and sanitation standards.
  • Support environmental sustainability initiatives, including proper linen reuse programs and chemical usage.
  • Collaborate with the front office and other departments to ensure room readiness and guest satisfaction.
  • Prepare shift reports and assist in scheduling.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; hospitality certification is a plus.
  • Proven experience (2–3 years) in hotel housekeeping, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to manage a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with housekeeping equipment and cleaning chemicals.
  • Basic computer skills (MS Office; knowledge of PMS systems like Opera is an advantage).
  • Good communication skills in English (additional languages are a plus).
  • Flexible to work shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Working Conditions:

  • Physically demanding—may require standing, walking, bending, and lifting.
  • Exposure to cleaning agents and chemicals.
  • Requires wearing a uniform and adherence to hotel grooming standards.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹22,000.00 per month
