Job Description

Key Roles and Responsibilities

The role is divided into five primary functional areas, with a heavy focus on category management, strategic sourcing, and contract management.

  • Category Management (25%)

    : Translates business strategies into category sourcing strategies and manages a focus on IT categories (consulting, telephony, hardware, software, SaaS, and print) across North America.
  • Strategic Sourcing (25%)

    : Develops and executes innovative strategies for acquiring technology goods and services while ensuring the realization of value creation targets like cost savings and avoidance.
  • Contract Management (25%)

    : Collaborates with internal departments (legal, IT/security, risk) and suppliers to draft, redline, and manage contracts.
  • Supplier Relationship Management (15%)

    : Manages relationships with key suppliers and develops joint business plans to drive value for stakeholders.
  • Stakeholder Engagement (10%)

    : Acts as a procurement business partner, leveraging industry expertise to co-create business strategies and securing stakeholder buy-in.

Additional Duties:

  • Process Improvement

    : Leads efforts to improve IT purchasing and invoice processes.
  • Budget Alignment

    : Coordinates with IT leaders during annual budget processes to ensure spending aligns with organizational goals.
  • Performance Tracking

    : Develops and tracks KPIs such as contract coverage, spend under control, and supplier risk/performance.
  • Leadership

    : Guides and mentors junior team members in developing their own sourcing strategies.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate must have a strong background in finance or supply chain and extensive experience in IT-specific procurement.

Education and Experience

  • Required Education

    : Undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Supply Chain, Economics, Operations, or Business Management.
  • Preferred Education

    : A graduate degree in a similar field is preferred.
  • Experience

    : A minimum of

    10+ years

    of relevant category experience is required.
  • Certifications

    : Sourcing and supply chain certifications are preferred.

Key Competencies and Skills

  • Technical Proficiency

    : Deep knowledge of Category Management, Strategic Sourcing, Industry/Supplier Intelligence, and Procurement Tools/Processes.
  • Analytical & Business Skills

    : Strong Data & Analytics capabilities, Business Acumen, and Risk Management.
  • Interpersonal Skills

    : Expertise in Negotiating, Influencing, Stakeholder Engagement, and Managing in a Matrix or Agile organization.
  • Project Management

    : Ability to lead cross-functional teams and deliver multiple sourcing projects simultaneously.

Work Location: Hyderabad

Shift Timings: 6:30PM to 3:30AM
