Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven individual to lead the business operations of our Pathology Lab in South Delhi. The Head of Path Business will be responsible for the overall operational efficiency, business development, team management, and quality control of the lab, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-centric services.
Qualifications & Experience Education:
Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology (DMLT) or Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Technology (BMLT) is mandatory.
Experience: 2-5 years of progressive experience in a pathology lab or healthcare setting, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory or managerial role focused on operations and business growth.
Skills: Strong leadership, communication (local language and English), problem-solving, and team management skills. Proficiency in MS Office and Laboratory Information Systems (LIS).
Key Responsibilities
1. Business Operations & Financial Management
Oversee the day-to-day operations of the pathology lab, ensuring smooth and efficient workflow.
Manage inventory, procurement of reagents, consumables, and minor equipment, ensuring cost-effectiveness and adequate stock levels.
Monitor and manage the departmental budget, focusing on revenue generation and expense control to meet financial targets.
Ensure timely and accurate reporting of financial and operational Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
2. Sales & Business Development
Drive new business growth by developing and maintaining strong relationships with local doctors, clinics, hospitals, and corporate clients in South Delhi.
Design and execute marketing and promotional activities to increase lab footfall and test volume.
Analyze market trends and competitor activities to identify new opportunities for service expansion.
3. Quality Assurance & Compliance-
Ensure the lab operates in strict adherence to all relevant NABL/ISO standards, safety protocols, and regulatory guidelines.
Oversee Internal and External Quality Control (IQC/EQAS) programs and take corrective action when necessary.
Maintain accurate and organized documentation for all procedures, quality checks, and maintenance logs.
4. Team Leadership & Management -
Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of technicians, phlebotomists, and support staff.
Conduct staff training on new procedures, equipment handling, and customer service standards.
Manage staff scheduling, duty rosters, and performance appraisals.
Ensure a positive and professional work environment.
5. Customer Service & Patient Care
Ensure the highest standards of customer service and patient experience are maintained, especially during sample collection.
Handle patient complaints, feedback, and escalations professionally and effectively.
