Job Description

As the Head of Electrical Engineering at Olympus, you will play a crucial role in leading the electrical R&D function and overseeing the business processes related to product development. Your responsibilities will include setting up the engineering R&D function on a global scale, executing engineering projects, and ensuring alignment with Olympus's global R&D strategy. You will lead engineering teams, manage project delivery, and coordinate with Olympus leaders to drive innovation and meet project timelines efficiently. Key Responsibilities: - Lead the functional setup and management of the electrical function, optimizing workflows, hiring, and resource management - Collaborate with global PMO teams to align the engineering R&D growth roadmap with Olympus's long-term R&D strategy - Develop technical training programs for internal teams and ensure alignment with Olympus technical standards - Implement continuous improvement initiatives within the electrical engineering function to enhance product development efficiency and quality - Identify and implement cutting-edge technologies to improve product performance and innovation - Head the electrical engineering function to manage all NPD activities within the India scope, ensuring alignment with regulatory standards and R&D objectives - Oversee the design and development of electrical systems for medical devices, ensuring safety, reliability, and compliance - Manage technical roadmaps and resource planning for the electrical R&D function in collaboration with vendor partners - Ensure adherence to design control procedures, drive continuous improvements, and provide guidance on verification and validation testing strategies - Lead risk management activities, ensure compliance with regulatory standards, and maintain documentation in compliance with GMP and quality system regulations Qualifications Required: - A degree or higher qualification in Biomedical/Electrical Engineering - Masters in biomedical/electrical engineering will be an added advantage - 14+ years of overall experience in medical or electrical engineering, with 10+ years in the medical devices domain - Strong understanding of medical device regulations and proven track record in leading teams for medical device development - Proficiency in circuit design, PCB layout, power management, and analog/digital signal processing - Experience in project and program management, vendor partner management, and Agile SCRUM environments - Familiarity with requirements management systems and risk analyses - Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills By taking on this role, you will have the opportunity to drive innovation, lead engineering projects, and ensure the successful development of medical devices at Olympus.
