Job Description

Role Overview: As the Head of Electrical Engineering at Olympus, you will be responsible for leading the electrical R&D function and serving as the business process owner for Olympuss Standard Operating Procedures related to product development. Your role will involve setting up the engineering R&D function for global operations, overseeing project execution, and ensuring alignment with Olympus global R&D strategy. You will play a key role in driving engineering projects, leading teams, and collaborating with global R&D and India leaders to achieve project goals efficiently. Key Responsibilities: - Lead the functional setup and management of the electrical function, optimizing workflows, task assignment, hiring/team set-up, and resource management - Ideate enhancements to systems and processes to increase product development efficiency, communication, and quality - Collaborate with global PMO teams to align the engineering R&D growth roadmap with Olympus long-term R&D strategy - Develop and oversee technical training and knowledge-sharing programs for internal teams to foster continuous skill development - Manage demand planning and resource forecasting for the function to ensure talent and infrastructure availability for current and future projects - Implement continuous improvement initiatives within the electrical engineering function to enhance technical processes and product development efficiency - Identify and implement cutting-edge technologies and engineering practices to improve product performance and drive innovation - Participate in strategic planning and provide technical insights to support long-term growth and competitiveness - Recruit, develop, mentor, and manage staff performance within the electrical engineering function - Create systems to ensure effective communication of all updates/changes across sites and employees Qualifications Required: - A degree or higher qualification in Biomedical / Electrical Engineering from a recognized university - Masters in biomedical / electrical engineering will be an added advantage - 14+ years of overall experience in medical or electrical engineering, with 10+ years in the medical devices domain - 5+ years of experience in a leadership role within a medical devices company - Strong understanding of medical device regulations such as ISO 13485 and FDA 21 CFR Part 820 - Proven track record of leading teams in the design and development of Class II/III medical devices - Proficiency in circuit design, PCB layout, power management, and signal processing for medical devices - Experience in project management, vendor partner management, and stakeholder engagement - Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills (Note: Additional details about the company were not provided in the job description.),
